![]() On 28th September 2017 the trust held a hugely successful auction with Doug Avery as our guest speaker. The evening started with a BANG as Mike Pero Real Estate announced they were donating $2000.00 to our trust! This set the tone for the evening and was followed by an emotional but amusing speech by Doug that touched everyone. After Doug had finished we sold autographed copies of his book "The Resiliant Farmer" and then the AUCTION began. We had been donated some amazing prizes and bidding was fierce! So much so the helicopter ride and the use of a new Motor home amongst others were kindly doubled, so we were able to sell these twice. There was a great atmosphere and lots of hilarity amongst the crowd with people cheekily bidding against each other and even at one stage physically sitting on top of a bidder to stop them bidding against them!!! All in all, once again, a very enjoyable evening, raising over $34,000.00 for our charity. A big thank you to our sponsors and all those that supported our cause. This is very much appreciated by the trust members and all the children in need that are now able to have school shoes or sports shoes.

![]() On Sunday 3rd April 2016 at Hope Community Hall we held a very successful 'Afternoon Tea' with Allyson Gofton , who had recently released ' Homestead Baking'. A cookbook to celebrate 50 years of Country Calendar. Over $5000 was raised for the Walk with Us Charitable Trust. Thank you to all who attended the event, purchased an Allyson Gofton Cookbook and gave generously!! Allyson entertained our audience of over 150 with her stories of her travels, living overseas, as well as sharing some personal ups and down. Whilst doing this she prepared a cake and talked through her methods of measuring etc. Afterwards Allyson joined us all for a special afternoon tea where there was abundance of good food, good chatter and lots of laughter. This went on for quite a while everyone was enjoying themselves so much they were hesitant to leave. There was also a chance to purchase a signed copy of ' Homestead Baking'. In it Allyson shares the stories and baking of many of our great farming families! This also has some stunning photos in it so makes a lovely coffee table book as well.
